Scything & Wildflowers at Ury Riverside Park

Saturday 19th September 2026  10am - 12noon

Get your hands dirty learning to scythe and discover the beauty of wildflowers!

Join us for a Climate Week North East scything and wildflower event where you can take part in one of two hands-on activities supporting traditional meadow management and biodiversity.

Please note: you must choose either scything or wildflowers when booking – it is not possible to do both at this event.

Choose your activity:

Scything:
Work alongside experienced practitioners to learn how to use a scythe safely and effectively, helping to clear vegetation and create space for new growth as part of long-term site management.

Wildflowers:
Focus on growing wildflowers, including seed collecting, germination techniques, and potting, learning practical skills to support pollinators and habitats.

This event offers a great opportunity to connect with nature, build conservation skills, and learn more about local flora and fauna. The session is delivered in collaboration with Outdoor & Woodland Learning Scotland, Curam Fyvie, and the Ury Riverside Park team.

No prior experience is required. Just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Please wear comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for outdoor work.

Come and enjoy a rewarding day outdoors, working together to support nature and biodiversity. We look forward to seeing you there

Tickets are available to book on Monday 15th June at Scything & Wildflowers at Ury Riverside Park | Facebook
